a framework for toolmaking
Posted here is a growing body of exercises as works in progress. Please help me by reading as many as you can and doing 1 or 2 of them. Doing 1 or 2 is more important to me than commenting on a lot of them. (I won’t stop you if you want to do more, but I don’t expect it)
Step 1: Register (Sorry about that, I just need to keep track of everything and this is the easiest way to do it. It takes two seconds and the link is on the right. You will get an email with a password shortly thereafter.)
Step 2: Browse the exercises and add any quick comments that you want (especially if it relates to one of the questions on the next page)
Step 3: Pick one that seems interesting… they all take varying amounts of time, or could take varying amounts of time depending how far your want to take it. (15 minutes to a full day). The average is meant to be less than an afternoon. Feel free to stop in the middle of an exercise if you get fed up or run out of time – that will be useful for me to know and is one of the questions on the next page)
Step 4: Send me what you did, and the answers to the questions on the next page. This can be via email, as a track back ping, handed to me, mailed to me, posted in a comment, posted on a website… It can be a picture, a scan, a word document, a program… right now many of the exercises have unspecified results. If you can’t or don’t want to send me what you did, please still try to answer the questions about it.
Again, Thank you for your support!
